SOLVED NOT it seems: RE: XP + SP2 + problem creating database Ora-03113 2004-11-10 - By Leonard, George
Hi all
Ok it seems I spoke to soon.
It just teased me yesterday.
Got home last night, got a private WiFi network at home, connected and
suddenly I could connect, created database etc. at that time my XP
firewall was running.
Got back to the office this morning and back to my friend Ora-03113 (See Ora-03113.ora-code.com) end
of Communication Channel.
I am pretty sure it is network related but don 't have a clue what it
could be since I have even disabled the firewall on my machine and still
have the problem, I found the netsh firewall command and disabled
everything, no change.=20
Added oracle.exe and tnslsnr.exe to the firewall exclusion list.
Anyone sent his before, solved this before.

Hi all
I previously had a database on my laptop, running XP+SP1 at that time,
Since then applied the SP2 patch, discovered I could not log onto the
old database, was nothing critical in it, so dropped it.
Trying to create a new database and running into ora-03113 (See ora-03113.ora-code.com)
I have added the service, created the password file, set the oracle sid,
But when I go=20
Sqlplus /nolog
Connect sys as sysdba
Give password it just shouts back with ora 3113 en of communication
channel.
Thought maybe it is the new XP firewall so complete disabled that, still
no joy,
Anyhow with ideas.
